Graeme McLeod stepped down from his position of Vice President of the BSC, leaving behind a legacy and decades of work and support for the club.
"Graeme was on the Committee before I joined in about 1996 and was VP for most of that time (he never wanted to be President). In 1970's & 80's he & his family (Emma & Erika were in Race teams) probably had the highest lodge occupancy and therefore highest family contribution to bunk night Lodge income. During this time he & wife Janet were also voluntary Ski Patrollers. Graeme was always a staunch supporter of Boomerang's "family" culture, and very encouraging to the children of all club members." - President Rod Leonard-Rogers.

We've got plenty of bunks left for Vet's week and a few remaining for the BSC race weekend. There's plenty of snow, so get booking!

This year's race weekend theme is Twilight/Vampires and Werewolves.

What are the dates, you ask? The race weekend will be held on the weekend of the 10th/11th September, and Vet's week is to be held on the week starting Monday 5th September.

This years AGM will be held at the Snow Centre, 19 Mahuru St, Newmarket.

The AGM meeting will be preceeded by a presentation by the Snow Centre staff on the LATEST TECHNOLOGY. There will be a 15% DISCOUNT available on goods and workshop services. REFRESHMENTS at nominal cost. Plus lots of other club members to chat to! See you all there.

Now that it's coming up to the end of the season, it would be great to get some photos and stories from our members up on the website!

If you have any photos of the Tongariro region, be it events in the club, or just a family day at the Knoll Ridge Chalet, either send your photos into us, or if you have access to the members area of the website, you can upload them yourself to your own album!

Also, if you have any stories or anecdotes about this year or years gone by, please send them into us so we can build an awesome collection for view by the public.

To all Boomerang Ski Racers or wanabes RACING TECHNIQUE AND GATE TRAINING GROUP LESSONS are being scheduled for 3 weekends early this season. Time spent specifically in gates will not only improve race times but will develop a more fluid carving turn better suited for modern skis. Group numbers limited to 10 for two and a half hours with a race experienced instructer for a subsidised price of $15 each. Dates are Sat 24 July Sunday 8th August (day after Christiana Derby) Sunday 22nd Aug (day after Haensli Cup) Please join me as we try to improve Boomerang Race Squad results or just improve your own technique.
